About KCET
- KCET or Karnataka Common Entrance Test is conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) for various undergraduate professional courses like engineering and technology courses offered by colleges in Bangalore and Karnataka
- KCET is one of the state level entrance exams for Engineering admission to top Engineering colleges in Bangalore and Karnataka
Eligibility for applying for KCET
- The aspiring students interested to join B.Tech/BE in professional engineering colleges in Bangalore should have specific eligibility criteria
- The students must have completed their 14 years of education in Karnataka are considered as domicile of Karnataka and the seats are more for domicile students of Karnataka when compared to non-Karnataka students.
- The students must have completed their PUC or 10 +2 from science stream from the recognised board are eligible to apply for KCET. Further the students interested to join engineering and technology courses should have scored 50% aggregate in science subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Electronics, Computer Science and Statistics.

What is KEA?
- The Government of Karnataka established common Entrance Test Cell for conducting of entrance test and determining the eligibility/merit, for admission to different professional courses offered by all the colleges in Karnataka
- The KEA conducts common entrance exam once in a year for different professional courses of engineering and technology courses offered in Karnataka
- The students applying for professional courses like B.Tech/BE are required to attend the KCET and counselling sessions
- The students who qualify KCET exam are required to undergo counselling sessions to choose their colleges based on their rankings
- The KEA conducts counselling sessions for all the students for different engineering colleges in Bangalore
The KEA counselling consists of 3 rounds:
- First Round of Counselling
- Second Round of Counselling for the remaining seats from the first round
- Third Round or Mop Up round for all the seats remaining after the second round.
KCET Exam Format
The KCET Exam consists of the following exam pattern:
- The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology
- Each question carries one mark and paper will be of 60 marks
- Total time for exam is 80 minutes and there is No Negative Marking for wrong answers
- The mode of exam is offline (paper based)
