Master of Technology is abbreviated as M.Tech and is a 2-years postgraduate course that is divided into 4-semesters. The M.Tech degree can be pursued soon after the completion of B.Tech course by the students. The sole purpose of the M.Tech course is to produce research engineers who will get positions of ‘Technologist’ in the industries and research institutes. The course will emphasise on the practical exposure of conceptual knowledge.

The M.Tech course is the higher specialisation course in engineering which focuses on more advanced levels of concept and implementation in the area taken up as for specialisation among the different engineering domains. The M.Tech course provides the students with an insight and deep knowledge of the subjects that the students study in their B.Tech course. The course exposes the students to the different applications of engineering in day-to-day life at an advanced level, this helps in getting more insight into the subjects. A master’s degree also improves chances of getting placed in core companies with a better pay scale.
